I realized that I needed to review the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red still. This is an original colorway from 1990. Confusingly, there are two versions of the Fire Red V. One has a 3M tongue and the other has a black tongue.
White, red and black are among the simplest colorways to create an outfit with. The mostly white upper allows you to pull off light or dark wash denim. You can add in a white or grey top and even some red accents to the rest of your outfit easily. You don’t have to overthink your attire with these!
When it comes to this colorway, I prefer the black tongue version. These have retroed multiple times, but I hope Jordan Brand gets around to retroing these again as it has been several years since a new version was available. I highly recommend this classic OG colorway for fans of the AJV, regardless of which year you decide on buying.
How Are The Materials?
Nice, thick, smooth leather covers the upper. While the materials are a tad on the shiny side, they are at least durable and have a quality feel. My only issue is with the paint on the midsole – it chips easily and I’ve had it rub off on other parts of the shoe.
How Do They Fit?
The Air Jordan 5 Fire Red fits a little big. I might have cut down on the creasing if I went down a half size. That said, these are very comfortable. They have a nice roomy fit at true size. For me, they don’t feel as bulky on foot as they look.
